Get to know Arts Everywhere

We can’t believe it’s already the start of the new semester! We warmly welcome back all the returning students and give a big shout out to all our new Tar Heels! Although Fall 2020 will look and feel a little different, we will continue to work to bring you creative arts opportunities and experiences on campus and at home. In the meantime, we invite you to get to know us a little better – who we are and what we do –  below!

In a nutshell

Arts Everywhere is a comprehensive initiative at UNC that aims to make the arts a fundamental part of the University culture and daily campus life.

Creative Interruptions

Short Story Dispensers

Did you know that anyone can submit a piece to be published in our Short Story dispensers? And if you’re not on campus to print a story from a machine, you can still peruse stories online! Stay tuned, because our dispensers will soon have touch-free features!

First Fridays

This monthly concert series with the UNC Department of Music highlights student ensembles at different locations across campus in a 15-minute informal performance setting. If you’re interested in participating, we’re accepting proposals until August 16th for our virtual First Fridays this fall!

Pop-up exhibits and performances

We had some great pop-up exhibits last school year that had us teaming up with our campus and community partners, students, alumni, and community members! Read more about our Every Color of the Rainbow exhibit from February!

Spaces to create and reflect

Morrison Art Studio is a place where you can to take part, make art, and unleash your inner artist with the use of all the free supplies you’ll need to paint and draw! There’s also an MFA artist-in-residence who serves as a resource for anyone who uses the space. Learn more about Morrison Art Studio and stay up to date with the latest news, updates, and guidelines! More details for Fall 2020 will be coming soon!
