Arts Everywhere recently had the pleasure of working with Britt Flood, the selected artist for the UNC Research mural! We spoke to Flood to get to know the artist behind the mural and talked to her about her artistic journey, inspirations, and dream projects.
Thank you, Britt, for speaking with us and for sharing your amazing art with the UNC community!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your artistic journey.

I have always drawn and kept a sketchbook since high school, and studied art at Appalachian State University, receiving a BFA in Studio Art in 2013. I am currently a full-time artist based in Pittsboro, NC, and have a goal of contributing a mural in all 50 states!

Who or what are you inspired by?

People being their authentic selves, small moments of wonder.

What’s your favorite aspect of creating murals?

What’s your dream project?

Right now it’s tied between bringing a large mural to Pittsboro, NC on one of the Chatham County water towers or a gesture drawing series with Carolina Ballet.
