Duo Beaux Arts

International competition winning ensemble Duo Beaux Arts was formed in 2008 by world renowned husband and wife concert pianists and recording artists Catherine Lan and Tao Lin. Known for its adrenalized performances, this dynamic Duo has performed in France, Switzerland, Spain, Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, China, and the US to both critical and audience acclaim. Duo Beaux Arts has been featured on Fox4 Morning Blend TV, Maine Public, Venice  Magazine, Asian-Trend Magazine, OutClique Magazine, World  Journal New York, the Lancaster News, WFSQ-FM Classical Radio, and Gulfshore Life Magazine. Season highlights include concerto engagements with South Florida Symphony Orchestra performing Mozart’s concerto for two pianos, debut recitals at Romanza Festivale, Swan City Piano Festival, Beethoven for Miami Festival, and the prestigious Cosmos Club in Washington D.C., as well as tours in Hungary and Canada. Duo Beaux Arts is represented by Lisa Sapinkopf Artists.

The historic heart of the music department in the College of Arts and Sciences, Hill Hall reopened in 2016 after an 18-month, $15-million renovation. Work centered on improvements to Hill Hall’s 430-seat auditorium and rotunda. The performance space was renamed the James and Susan Moeser Auditorium in honor of the former chancellor and his wife, who are organists and teachers at UNC.
